ELIZABETHVILLE, PA – It was a night of near-total local dominance this past Friday as the Upper Dauphin Area (UDA) wrestling team put on a clinical performance against Columbia High School. The Trojans protected their home mat with a commanding 58-6 victory, fueled by a flurry of first-period pins and opportunistic forfeits.
Early Momentum and Speed
The dual meet began with a quick advantage for UDA as Brayden Morgan secured six points via forfeit at 107 lbs. While both teams sat out the 114 lb weight class, the action ignited at 121 lbs. Brody Barge set the tone for the night, pinning Columbia’s Chance Ronca in just 3:39.
Columbia found their only spark of the evening at 127 lbs. In one of the most competitive bouts of the night, Brady Buzzendore managed to catch UDA’s Paul Ely, securing a fall at the 0:51 mark to put Columbia on the board with 6 points. However, that would prove to be the Crimson Tide's final score of the match.
The Trojan Wall
From 133 lbs onward, Upper Dauphin was untouchable. Wyatt Kassirer showed impressive technical control in a Major Decision over Micah Cole (20-7), while the middle-weight classes saw a string of forfeits that ballooned the UDA lead.
The highlight of the upper-middle weights was Blake Dyer’s lightning-fast performance at 160 lbs, where he pinned Ethan McNair in a mere 36 seconds. The dominance continued into the heavier classes:
172 lbs: Peyton Ratcliffe ground out an 11-6 decision over Chase Marley.
189 lbs: Axel Pacheco Panchi outlasted Bobby Reese Jr. for a 7-3 decision.
215 lbs: Wyatt Troutman pinned Gage Wolf in 1:42.
285 lbs: Eoghan Savage closed the scoring with a 1:16 pin over Luke Rupp.
Exhibition Strength
The Trojans' depth was on full display even after the official team score was settled. In extra bouts at 215 and 285 lbs, Heriberto Borges Sanchez and Carter Morgan both secured falls in under 45 seconds, signaling a bright future for the Trojans' heavy-weight rotation.
