Tri Valley League Meet | April 21, 2026 | Susquenita High School

DUNCANNON — The Millersburg track and field program turned in a strong performance at Monday's Tri-Valley League triangular meet hosted by Susquenita High School, collecting multiple individual event titles and demonstrating depth across both the girls' and boys' rosters against Susquenita and Halifax Area.

Girls Summary

The Millersburg girls came away victorious against Halifax Area in the dual meet scoring, 101-34, though Susquenita's deep squad edged the Indians 94-47 in the other dual. Despite the loss to the host school, Millersburg athletes left little doubt about their individual talent, racking up four event titles and a host of podium finishes.

Kate Rothermel was the standout performer of the day on the girls' side, turning in a dominant multi-event showing. She cleared 4 feet, 10 inches to win the high jump, then went on to take the long jump with a leap of 16-02.75, and added a runner-up finish in the triple jump (34-03). Rothermel also anchored the winning girls 4x400 relay team alongside Drue Bailey, Brinley Chubb, and Mena Clark, which crossed in 4:46.94 — the top time in the event on the day.

Reagan Wentzel was equally impressive in the throws. She won the shot put with a toss of 35-06 and followed that with a discus victory at 101-05, making her the dominant force in the throwing circle for the Indians. Jada Dillard capped off a superb day in the field events by winning the javelin at 102-07, with teammates Vivian Romberger (91-04) and Makayla Haines (86-07) rounding out a strong Millersburg showing that saw the Indians place three athletes in the top four in the event.

On the track, Jade Sweppenhiser delivered a gutsy second-place finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:27.57, well ahead of her seed. Martina Collado Sanchez contributed a third-place finish in the 3200 (15:05.01) and fourth in the 1600 (7:03.50), giving Millersburg valuable points in the distance events. The Indians' 4x100 relay team (Jayden Clowes, Fallon Savage, Mena Clark, Jada Dillard) finished second in 56.91, and the 4x800 squad (Gretchen Charles, Martina Collado Sanchez, Jade Sweppenhiser, Elena Webster) came in second at 12:20.05.

Boys Summary

The Millersburg boys faced stiffer competition, dropping dual meet decisions to both Susquenita (102-47) and Halifax Area (73-63), but a number of individuals had standout days that bode well for the postseason.

The field events were once again a strength for Millersburg. Alfonso Santiago was exceptional, winning both the shot put (39-01) and javelin (131-07) to give the Indians their two biggest individual victories of the afternoon on the boys' side. Dylan Etzweiler won the discus with an impressive throw of 108-04, and the Indians placed multiple athletes in the top ten in each throwing event, signaling real depth in the program.

On the track, Tavin Yates claimed the win in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.01 and was a key leg of the victorious Millersburg boys 4x400 relay team. That squad — Ozzy Beck, Kaeden Lohr, Camden McGilvery, and Yates — posted a winning time of 3:53.02, outpacing Susquenita and Halifax Area. Lohr also turned in one of Millersburg's best individual track performances, finishing second in both the 100-meter dash (11.78) and the 200-meter dash (24.15), keeping pace with Susquenita's Andy Herrera, who swept both sprint titles on the day.

Alphonzo Williams was another bright spot for the Millersburg boys, taking second place in the triple jump with a distance of 38-03.25, just a few inches shy of first. The boys 4x800 team (Ozzy Beck, Lachlan McGilvray, Nicea Rocca, Gabe Matter) rounded out the day with a third-place finish at 9:26.10.

Looking Ahead

Millersburg collected seven individual event victories across the full meet — four on the girls' side and three on the boys' side — plus two relay titles. While the dual meet record against Susquenita was a tough ask on the road, the depth in the throws, the relay performances, and individual contributions from athletes like Rothermel, Wentzel, Dillard, Santiago, Etzweiler, and Lohr give the Indians plenty to build on as the TVL championship season approaches.
