Teeter's Walk-Off Blast Sends Trojans Past Halifax in Thriller

Elizabethville, PA — The crowd barely had time to catch its breath. With the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans needing a big moment, junior left fielder Jenna Teeter delivered the biggest one of the night — sending a walk-off home run soaring over the fence to lift the Trojans to an 8-5 victory over the Halifax Wildcats on Wednesday evening at home.
The ball hadn't even hit the ground before the UDA dugout erupted. Teammates swarmed the field as Teeter rounded the bases, capping a performance that can only be described as one for the record books.
Teeter Does It All
The walk-off blast was just the exclamation point on what had already been a remarkable evening for Teeter. She went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and four RBI, accounting for a massive chunk of the Trojans' offensive output. Her six total bases were the most of any player on either side of the diamond.
Yeager Masterful in the Circle
While Teeter authored the headline moment, it was ace pitcher Miley Yeager who gave the Trojans the chance to win it. The senior right-hander was absolutely dominant all night, going the full seven innings and striking out an eye-popping 15 batters while surrendering zero earned runs on just three hits.
Yeager did allow five runs, all unearned, as UDA's defense — which committed four errors on the evening — made things more complicated than they needed to be. But Yeager bore down every time Halifax threatened, throwing 134 pitches with an impressive 87 for strikes and facing just 33 batters over seven frames.
When you strand baserunners inning after inning on the strength of pure stuff, that's a special performance.
Offense Comes Alive
Halifax starter Bebe Roland held her own through much of the contest but couldn't quiet the UDA lineup for long. The Trojans pounded out 13 hits on the night, spreading the wealth throughout the order.
Nalona Jury (1B) was relentless, going 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBI. Lydia Engle chipped in a double and two hits, while Amaya Hoffman went 2-for-4 with two RBI from behind the plate.
Miley Yeager also contributed at the dish, lacing a triple as part of a multi-hit day. Layla Smith reached twice and scored, and Madelyn McAlanis added a hit and a run of her own.
Roland took the loss for Halifax, going 6⅔ innings and giving up all 13 hits while striking out seven.
Looking Ahead
The victory is a statement win for a Trojans squad that showed it can manufacture runs, lean on elite pitching, and deliver in clutch moments. The walk-off victory at home will no doubt be a rallying memory for this team as the season moves forward.
For Teeter, Yeager, and a Trojans squad that refused to let the game slip away, Wednesday night at UDA belonged to them.
