ELIZABETHVILLE, PA — The Upper Dauphin Trojans (2-3, 1-0 TVAA) delivered a decisive performance in their Tri-Valley Athletic Association (TVAA) opener on Monday night, overwhelming the Millersburg Indians (1-2, 0-1 TVAA) with a final score of 57-28.

The victory is a crucial one for the Trojans, who entered the night with a tough 1-3 overall record. The win not only gets them off to a great start in league play but also provides a significant confidence boost after navigating a challenging early non-conference schedule. The 29-point margin was the largest of the season for UDA.

Trojans Control Game from Tip-Off

Upper Dauphin established their authority immediately, jumping out to a commanding 16-5 lead in the first quarter. They maintained steady offensive pressure throughout the game, outscoring the Indians in all four quarters.

The Trojans' success was fueled by a balanced scoring attack and sharp shooting from beyond the arc, hitting a total of seven three-pointers on the night. Four Upper Dauphin players finished with 8 or more points, led by Junior, Landon Savage and Freshman, Ian Weaver, who each contributed 10 points to the effort. Weaver’s output was particularly efficient, including two three-pointers and a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.

Millersburg Struggles on Offense

Millersburg suffered their first league loss, struggling to find an offensive rhythm against the stout Trojan defense. The team was hampered by inefficiency from the free-throw line, where they converted only 4 of 13 attempts.

Chase Wilbert was the leading scorer for the Indians with 12 points, though he struggled from the charity stripe, making only 2 of his 9 free-throw attempts. Ayden Winstead was the only other Indian with significant scoring, adding 6 points.

The loss marks Millersburg's second consecutive defeat, dropping their overall record to 1-2 as they seek to regroup for the remainder of the league schedule.
