MILLERSBURG — After a challenging opening round, the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans showcased their resilience and depth on Monday, December 29th, cruising to a 59-26 victory over host Millersburg to claim third place in the 2025 WQLV Tournament.

The Trojans put together a complete performance, rebounding from a tough Saturday loss to Tri-Valley to finish the holiday tournament on a high note.

Barge Leads Long-Range Attack

The story of the consolation game was the hot shooting of Maddox Barge. Barge ignited the Trojan offense early, finishing the night with a team-high 14 points, bolstered by four 3-pointers. His perimeter threat opened up the floor for a balanced Upper Dauphin attack that saw multiple players reach double figures.

Kaide Heim and Chris McClain each tallied 10 points in the win. McClain was efficient around the rim and perfect from the charity stripe (2-for-2), while Heim added two triples of his own to the Trojans' season-high seven total three-pointers.

Stifling Defense Shuts Down Indians

Upper Dauphin set the tone defensively from the jump, limiting Millersburg to just 7 points in the first quarter and a mere 9 points across the entire second half.

  • First Half Dominance: The Trojans built a double-digit lead by the end of the first frame (18-7) and pushed it to 32-17 by halftime.

  • Second Half Lock-down: UDA allowed only 5 points in the third quarter and 4 in the fourth, effectively neutralizing any hope of a Millersburg comeback.

Tournament Summary for the Trojans

While the Trojans fell to the eventual tournament champion Tri-Valley in the semi-final round, their performance on Monday highlighted the team's growth.
