CARLISLE, PA — The Upper Dauphin Area varsity wrestling had two place winners this past weekend at the highly competitive Carlisle Tournament, with two junior standouts, Eoghan Savage and Peyton Ratcliffe, earning medals for their performances in a tournament packed with top-tier talent.

Junior Eoghan Savage delivered a remarkable performance, claiming 2nd place at 285 lbs. Savage’s achievement is particularly significant as his bracket was one of the most challenging in the tournament, featuring a loaded field that included seven state-ranked wrestlers. His run through the bracket confirms his status as a formidable force this season.

Fellow junior Peyton Ratcliffe demonstrated exceptional grit and perseverance, wrestling his way back to a 5th place finish in the 172 lbs weight class.. After dropping his opening-round bout, Ratcliffe refused to be eliminated, entering the grueling consolation bracket and rallying to win four of his next five matches. This impressive "wrestle-back" performance is a testament to Ratcliffe's mental toughness and conditioning, as he had to defeat multiple opponents back-to-back to reach the medal stand.

Upper Dauphin will be back in action on Tuesday, December 16th when they travel to Williams Valley to take on the Vikings.
