Trojans Take Down Vikings, 41-23

TOWER CITY, PA — In a Tuesday night clash of local wrestling the Upper Dauphin Area (UDA) Trojans utilized a combination of veteran grit and depth to overpower the Williams Valley Vikings, 41-23. The non-league dual, held in front of a spirited crowd at Williams Valley High School, showcased the Trojans’ ability to capitalize on bonus points and empty weights.

Trojans Charge Ahead Early

The dual began at 107 pounds, where UDA’s Brayden Morgan accepted a forfeit to give the Trojans a quick 6-0 lead. Following a double forfeit at 114, the Vikings roared back to life. In back-to-back matches that electrified the home stands, Damion Ems (121) and Magnus Monger (127) both secured pins, briefly putting Williams Valley in front, 12-6.

However, that would be the last time the Vikings held the lead. A devastating stretch of three consecutive forfeits at 133, 139, and 145 pounds handed 18 points back to Upper Dauphin, effectively shifting the momentum for good.

Middleweight Fireworks

The most technical bout of the evening occurred at 152 pounds. Williams Valley’s Xzavion Tennis displayed elite offensive capability, racking up points at will against UDA’s Leroy Zimmerman for a 26-9 Technical Fall.

UDA responded immediately. At 160 pounds, Blake Dyer quieted the crowd with a lightning-fast fall in 2:52. He was followed by Peyton Ratcliffe (172), who delivered a masterclass of his own with an 18-3 Technical Fall to push the Trojan lead to 35-17.

Closing the Door

Williams Valley’s Colin Crisswell provided a late spark for the Vikings, pinning Axel Pacheco Panchi in just 1:08 at 189 pounds. But the Trojans’ "big men" proved too steady to rattle. Wyatt Troutman ground out a tough 3-1 decision over Elisha Weiss at 215, and heavyweight Eoghan Savage—a multi-sport standout for the Trojans—sealed the final 41-23 score with a controlled 4-0 decision over Camron Green.
