Trojans Strike Gold: Archery Teams Dominate at Clash of the Cardinals

PINE GROVE, PA – The Upper Dauphin Trojan archers delivered a powerhouse performance this past Saturday at the annual Clash of the Cardinals archery tournament. Facing off against a field of regional competitors, the Trojans secured top-tier finishes in both the High School and Middle School divisions, punctuated by a staggering 17 personal best scores.
High Schoolers Claim Top Spot
The Trojan High School team led the charge, securing a first-place victory with a dominant collective score of 3284. Leading the individual charge was Colby Strohecker, whose precision earned him 4th place overall with a score of 284. He was followed closely by teammates Addyson Gelsinger and Olivia Kohler, who secured the 8th and 9th spots respectively, both posting impressive scores of 279.
The victory was bolstered by several "personal bests" from the high school squad, including standout performances by Reese Marberger (268), Grant Molnar (253), Emma Weaver (251), and Harry Weaver (241).
Middle School Takes Silver in Tight Race
The Middle School team showed that the future of the program is in steady hands, clinching second place with a total score of 3162. The middle schoolers were a constant presence on the leaderboards:
Jase Calnon: 3rd Place (278 – Personal Best)
Levi Miller: 4th Place (276 – Personal Best)
Lukas Mauser: 6th Place (274)
Ella Margerum: 6th Place (Ladies Division, 270)
Kyra Dyer: 9th Place (265 – Personal Best)
A Record-Breaking Day
Beyond the podium finishes, the tournament served as a milestone for individual growth. A total of 13 middle school archers achieved new personal records, including Cora Welker (250), Mehmet Celik (249), Alexander Wilson (248), and Axel Etzweiler (246). Other archers hitting their marks included Makenna Crowther, Derrick Henry, Branch Engle, Nicolo Henry, Carter Campbell, Savannah Hand, Zane Romberger, and Gracie Bettis.
The Trojans' performance at Pine Grove reinforces their reputation as one of the region’s premier archery programs. With the high school team taking gold and the middle schoolers taking silver, the Trojan archers are heading into the next phase of their season with significant momentum.
