Elizabethville, PA – The Upper Dauphin Area Trojans demonstrated grit and competitive spirit in their Tri-Valley League matchup on Monday night, but ultimately fell to the Halifax Wildcats, 61-49. Despite the loss, the Trojans maintained a strong 5-2 overall record on the season.
The game began as a tightly contested battle, with the Trojans trailing by just two points, 10-8, at the close of the first quarter. However, a significant offensive surge by Halifax in the second period put Upper Dauphin behind, as the Wildcats stretched their lead to 34-23 by halftime.
The Trojans refused to concede, battling back in the second half. They held their own in the final two periods, including a strong fourth-quarter finish where they matched Halifax's scoring output, 14-13.
The Upper Dauphin offense was paced by dual threats, Maddox Barge and Alex Fernandez, who each scored 10 points for the Trojans. Fernandez notably contributed with two three-pointers, while Barge added a three-pointer and went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Key contributions also came from Kaide Heim and Landon Savage, who each tallied 6 points.
The loss moves the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans' league record to 1-2. They will need a strong performance in their next contest as they face the difficult task of taking on the Eastern Division leader, Susquenita (3-0 league record) on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
