ELIZABETHVILLE — The Upper Dauphin Area Varsity Trojans didn’t just play ball on Wednesday; they put on an absolute clinic. In a dominant Tri-Valley League performance, the Trojans dismantled East Juniata 12-1, using a relentless offensive attack and a gem in the circle to end the game in five innings.

Early Fireworks

The Trojans set the tone immediately in the bottom of the first. After loading the bases, Yeager cracked a single to drive in the first run of the day, signaling a long afternoon for the visiting Tigers.

The momentum turned into a landslide in the second inning as Upper Dauphin sent five more runners across the plate:

  • Jury cleared the paths with a two-RBI single.

  • Engle followed up with a sharp double to drive in another.

  • Hoffman provided the highlight of the day, launching a towering two-run home run to left field, pushing the lead to a commanding 7-0.

Jury Outduels Snyder

While the offense was humming, Jury was untouchable in the circle. She pitched all five innings, surrendering only three hits and a single unearned run. Her command was on full display as she racked up 8 strikeouts while allowing only two walks.

On the other side, East Juniata’s Snyder struggled to contain the Trojans' lineup, giving up 12 runs on 13 hits over four and a third innings. While the Tigers' defense faltered at times—leading to eight unearned runs—the Trojans' aggressive baserunning and timely hitting made the difference.

By The Numbers

The Trojan lineup was a "who’s who" of offensive production on Wednesday:

Looking Ahead

East Juniata saw small sparks of life from Hommel, Cranmer, and Mayes, who each picked up a hit, but it wasn't enough to bridge the gap against the surging Trojans.

The victory keeps the Trojans’ momentum high as they prepare for a rivalry showdown. Upper Dauphin travels to Halifax this Friday for what promises to be a high-stakes Tri-Valley clash.
