ELIZABETHVILLE, PA – The Northern Lebanon girls' basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday night, as they rolled past Upper Dauphin Area, securing a comprehensive 51-17 victory. The Vikings showcased a potent offense and strong defensive effort, controlling the game from the opening tip.

Northern Lebanon's balanced attack saw them build a significant lead early, outscoring Upper Dauphin 12-6 in the first quarter and extending their advantage to 22-7 by halftime. While Upper Dauphin managed to edge the Vikings 6-4 in the third quarter, Northern Lebanon quickly regained momentum, closing out the game with a dominant 13-6 run in the final frame to seal the win.

Weimer Leads Vikings' Charge  Sophomore guard Kasey Weimer was the catalyst for Northern Lebanon's offense, leading all scorers with an impressive 18 points. Weimer was particularly effective from the free-throw line, sinking 12 of her 13 attempts (92%). Junior forward Hayley Sheroky also had a strong outing, contributing 11 points, including a crucial three-pointer. Selah Mantino added 8 points, while Saoirse Phillips chipped in with 6 points.

Upper Dauphin Struggles to Find Offensive Rhythm

Upper Dauphin, conversely, struggled to find their offensive footing against the Vikings' stifling defense. The team's leading scorer, Paige Williams, finished with 7 points, making three two-point field goals and one free throw. Alana Bingaman added 5 points, including a three-pointer, and Mady Maurer contributed 3 points, also from beyond the arc.

The Trojans were hampered by a tough shooting night overall, converting only five two-point field goals and two three-pointers. They also found little success at the free-throw line, making just one of their four attempts.

Despite the loss, Upper Dauphin's players showed flashes of determination, particularly in the third quarter. However, they were ultimately unable to match Northern Lebanon's depth and consistent scoring.

Northern Lebanon now looks to carry this momentum into their next matchup against Manheim Central. Upper Dauphin will aim to regroup as they prepare for their Tip Off Tournament this weekend where they will open up with Mount Carmel.
