PINE GROVE – While the track was fast and the air was cool, the Millersburg field athletes were the ones heating up at the Pine Grove Invitational this past Friday. The Indians brought home a collection of hardware, led by standout individual performances that saw multiple athletes shatter their personal bars.

The Rothermel Hat-Trick

Kate Rothermel was arguably the most versatile athlete of the meet. Competing in three separate jumping disciplines, Rothermel never finished outside the top four. She secured the gold in the Triple Jump with a 33-7.00 mark, found the podium again with a 3rd-place finish in High Jump (4-10.00), and rounded out her day taking 4th in the Long Jump (15-7.00).

Power in the Circles

The throwing events were a "Maroon and Gold" affair as Millersburg dominated the shot put and javelin.

  • Reagan Wentzel took control of the Shot Put, launching a 35-7.00 throw to claim 1st place.

  • Jada Dillard proved to be a dual-threat in the circles, grabbing 2nd place in the Javelin (100-8.00) and returning to the podium for a 3rd-place finish in the Shot Put (33-7.50).

  • Jacelyn Henninger continued the scoring trend in the Discus, placing 4th with a strong 98-1.00 effort.

Notable Efforts on the Track

In the hurdles, Audrina Hoover showed great technical skill, navigating the 100m Hurdles in 19.39 to finish 13th and the 300m Hurdles in 1:01.08. On the distance side, Martina Collado Sanchez led the endurance squad with a 15:09.38 in the 3200m Run, while Jade Sweppenhiser (1600m) and Jayden Clowes (800m) put in strong individual shifts against deep heats.
