ELIZABETHVILLE — The psych sheets are out, and the water is heating up.

The combined Upper Dauphin Area (UDA) and Halifax swimming community has a lot to celebrate as the 2025-2026 PIAA District 3 Championships approach. Following a season of grueling practices and hard-fought dual meets, the local contingent is sending a powerhouse roster to Cumberland Valley High School on February 27–28.

With multiple top-20 seeds and a legitimate title contender in the mix, the local team is poised for one of its most successful postseason runs in recent memory.

Reber Leads the Charge

Leading the pack is Halifax junior Hannah Reber, who has positioned herself as a major threat in the AA classification. Reber enters the meet as the #2 seed in the 100-yard backstroke. Her performance will be pivotal not only for her individual podium aspirations but also as the lead-off for both girls' relay teams.

She isn’t the only one eyeing the medal stand. Senior Ethan Roe (Halifax) carries top-10 momentum into the weekend, seeded 9th in the 100-yard butterfly and 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Strength in Numbers: The UDA Connection

The UDA sophomore class is proving the future is bright. Mena Clark holds a strong 13th seed in the 50-yard freestyle, while Maximus Smith is a dual-threat qualifier in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke.

Senior leadership will be provided by Brayden McLenegan, who will cap off his high school career competing in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events.

Relay Watch: The Hunt for the Podium

The relays are where team depth truly shines, and the boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay team (Smith, Brown, Roe, McLenegan) is in a prime position. Currently seeded 8th, they are squarely in the hunt for a podium finish.

On the girls' side, the medley and freestyle relays are both locked in at the 14th seed. A key narrative to watch will be the "anchor" leg of the medley relay, where sophomore Tori Klunk will look to hold off the field to secure a top-time finish for the girls.
