ELIZABETHVILLE, PA — It was a tale of two very different diamonds for the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans this week. After an offensive masterclass on Tuesday that saw them dismantle Juniata, the Trojans found themselves on the receiving end of a hitting clthis inic against a powerful Susquenita squad on Wednesday.

Trojans Fire on All Cylinders in 20-1 Rout of Juniata

On Tuesday, the Trojans traveled to Juniata and left no doubt about their offensive depth. In a game defined by relentless pressure, UDA capitalized on early opportunities before blowing the game wide open with a staggering 12-run third inning.

5The middle of the order was lethal, led by catcher Amaya Hoffman, who finished the day a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs. The power surge was punctuated by Kalynn Ford, who crushed a two-run home run to center field during the third-inning rally. Rowan Rickert, McKenna Schaffner, and Lydia Engle all contributed multi-hit performances, while the team’s speed accounted for four stolen bases.

On the rubber, Nalona Jury was dominant. She stifled the Juniata bats over three innings, allowing only three hits and zero earned runs while striking out four to secure the victory.

Susquenita Bats Overpower UDA in 23-5 Loss

The momentum from Tuesday’s blowout was short-lived, however, as the Trojans ran into a buzzsaw against the Susquenita Blackhawks on Wednesday. Susquenita’s lineup was locked in from the first pitch, racking up 19 hits in a high-scoring affair.

The Blackhawks established control early, but a nine-run third inning—highlighted by home runs from Fleisher and Beckenbaugh—proved insurmountable.

Despite the lopsided score, Lydia Engle provided a massive silver lining for the Trojans. She single-handedly kept the UDA offense on the board, driving in all five of the team's runs. Her performance was highlighted by a towering three-run home run to center field in the bottom of the third. Nolana Jury also remained consistent at the plate, joining Engle with a multi-hit game.

Looking Ahead

The Upper Dauphin Area Varsity Trojans (5-4) will return to their home turf on Monday to host the Williams Valley Vikings. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 PM as UDA looks to climb back into the win column.
