CHAMBERSBURG, PA – The Halifax High School swimming team closed out its league schedule this past Tuesday, February 3, 2026, facing off against a deep Chambersburg High School roster. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Wildcat swimmers turned in several standout individual performances and a thrilling relay comeback.

The sheer numbers favored the home team throughout the evening. The Halifax boys (4 swimmers) fell to Chambersburg (13 swimmers) with a final score of 85-30, while the Halifax girls (5 swimmers) were defeated 120-31 by a Trojan squad of 18.

Headline Performance: Reber Leads the Way

Hannah Reber was the standout for the Halifax girls, accounting for 12 points on her own. Reber dominated her individual events, securing first-place finishes in both the 100-yard backstroke and the 50-yard freestyle.

On the boys' side, Ethan Roe and Max Smith led the scoring with 10 points each:

  • Ethan Roe (Halifax): Captured 1st place in the 100 free and 2nd place in the 100 back.

  • Max Smith (Upper Dauphin): Took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke and followed up with a 2nd place finish in the 100 free.

Relay Highlights & "The Comeback"

The most electric moment of the night occurred during the Girls 200 Free Relay. The team of Reber, Collado-Sanchez, and Klunk kept the race within reach, but it was Mena Clark’s (UDA) remarkable anchor leg that stole the show. Clark mounted a massive comeback in the final 50 yards to propel Halifax into a 2nd place finish.

Other Relay Results:

  • Girls 200 Medley Relay: (Reber, Collado-Sanchez, Clark, Klunk) – 3rd Place

  • Boys 200 Medley Relay: (Brown, Roe, Smith, Bowman) – 3rd Place

  • Boys 200 Free Relay: (Smith, Brown, Bowman, Roe) – 3rd Place

Noteworthy Milestones

Beyond the podium, the Wildcats celebrated several personal victories. Conrad Brown (Upper Dauphin) showed his versatility by competing in the 100 butterfly for the first time in his high school career, earning a 4th place finish.

Perhaps the most impressive individual improvement came from Jocelyn Liddick, who shattered her previous personal record (PR) in the 50-yard freestyle, dropping a massive 3.66 seconds off her time.
