FREDERICKSBURG, PA – The Northern Lebanon Vikings boys' basketball team delivered a commanding performance last night, defeating the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans with a final score of 70-48 in a non-conference matchup held at Fredericksburg. The Vikings asserted control from the outset, establishing an early lead and maintaining their momentum throughout the game.
Northern Lebanon burst out of the gates, putting up an impressive 28 points in the first quarter to Upper Dauphin's 9, setting the tone for the remainder of the contest. While the Trojans showed some resilience in the final quarter, matching the Vikings' 20 points, the early deficit proved too large to overcome.
Key Players Shine for the Vikings
Northern Lebanon's offense was spearheaded by a trio of high-scoring players. Senior Andrew Via led all scorers with a superb 19 points, demonstrating his versatility with six two-point field goals and two crucial three-pointers. Senior Nolan Lesher was equally impactful, contributing 16 points primarily through his seven successful two-point shots. Rounding out the top scorers was sophomore Carter Moyer, who added 12 points to the Vikings' tally.
Other notable contributions for Northern Lebanon included Collin Padovani with 8 points, Kael Erdman and Christian Anspach each adding 5 points, and Bryce Martin with 3 points.
Trojans' Efforts Led by Heim
For the Upper Dauphin Trojans, Kaide Heim was the standout performer, leading his team with 18 points. Heim recorded six two-point field goals and one three-pointer. Alex Fernandez and Braden Foraker each contributed 9 points for the Trojans.
Both teams will quickly turn their focus to their next matchups as The Northern Lebanon Vikings will play their next game on Friday, December 5th, traveling to face Twin Valley at 7:30 PM. The Upper Dauphin Area Trojans are set to compete again on Friday, December 5th, hosting a tournament game against Mount Calvary Christian at 7:00 PM.
