SUSQUENITA, PA – In a dominant display of Tri-Valley League (TVL) basketball, the Susquenita Blackhawks remained perfect in conference play with a resounding 72-28 victory over the visiting Upper Dauphin Trojans on Thursday night.
From the opening tip, the Blackhawks dictated the pace, overwhelming the Trojans with a 29-9 first-quarter run. Susquenita’s offense was firing on all cylinders, led by a masterful performance from Joel McNaughton, who racked up a game-high 25 points. McNaughton was clinical from the floor and the charity stripe, finishing with six 2-pointers, two triples, and a 7-of-8 mark at the free-throw line.
The Blackhawks’ perimeter shooting proved to be the difference-maker, as the team combined for eight 3-pointers. Christian Boyer added 11 points, including three from beyond the arc, while Hunter Mitchell reached double digits with 10 points.
Upper Dauphin struggled to find their rhythm against a stifling Susquenita defense, failing to record a single 3-pointer in the contest. Landon Savage led the Trojans with 9 points, followed by Kaide Heim with 6.
TVL East Outlook
With the win, Susquenita improves to an impressive 7-1 overall and remains atop the TVL East standings with a 4-0 league record. Meanwhile, Upper Dauphin moves to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the TVL East.
